Animation & 3D Reel: March 2014

Strongly suggest you go to Vimeo to watch in HD.

A reel of animations and character turnarounds. For a full portfolio, see www.derektimmbrock.com; for a breakdown list, go to derektimmbrock.com/animation. Where this video happens to be embedded! Also, this reel is silent, but if you want music, the house recommends the following YouTubes: Kocani Orkestar - Siki Siki Baba Katamari Damacy - Katamari On The Rocks (Beatbox Version) Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings (joke, don't play this one) Mike Phirman - Chicken Monkey Duck (this one isn't very long, so start after starting the reel) Chirgilchin - Khoomeige Yoreel

  2. Mr. Postgrad - Turntable.  Blender, modeled and rigged by me.  Driven shapekeys to fix some odd rig deformations.
  3. Miss Kitty - Turntable.  Blender, modeled and rigged by me.
  4. Blaine - Turntable, Physics Effects.  Blender, modelted and rigged by me.  Modified cloth simulation on hat, hair, and beard to add jiggle to extreme movements.
  5. Mannikins - Walk cycles with demonstration of rig deformations, followed by some character animations.  Blender, modeled by me, rigged using Rigify plugin.  Deformations achieved via a combination of rig-driven keys and bone scaling. Process gifs of walk cycles visible on my blog as .gifs

Note: this reel does not contain any sound or music.  If you like to listen while you watch, the house recommends, in no particular order (and mostly facetiously), the following YouTubes:
